Grace and Salvation

Using our mortality as a starting point, this talk by Greg Kozak looks at how God interacts with us during our lives and at our death. Drawing on themes from each of the 5 previous presentations in this series, plus the “Teaching of the Definitive Encounter” first mentioned in the presentation on Prayer, this presentation attempts to pull together Catholic teaching into a “but what does it mean for me now?” response. It presents a reality that is “tilted in our favor” such that we retain free will but have a tendency to move towards God. It lightly touches on questions such as “how can an all-loving God allow tragedy in the world?” and “why don’t all people believe in God?” It concludes with an enticing teaching of the Catholic Church on what happens when we die and face our final judgment.
