Advent Service of Light

Using the "O Antiphons" as a basis, this 40 minute prayer service prepares us for the dawning of Christ's light in each of our lives. It also incorporates familiar Christmas songs to fan the flames of anticipation for the celebration of the birth of the Savior.

For this prayer service, a candelabra is required, along with 6 Readers and a Leader. The Readers will each have 2 readings, after each of which they should process forward and light the lowest most candle on the candlabra, first on the left side after the first reading, and then on right side after the second reading. The Leader should light the topmost candle at the beginning of the Concluding Rite.
